Each herbarium in this collection is an original botanical specimen collected and preserved by students at the École Normale d’Instituteurs de Savenay in western France during the early 1920s. Created as part of a teacher-training curriculum, these specimens were gathered, identified, and mounted by hand over a century ago.
Today, they serve as both historical documents and works of natural art, showcasing delicate botanicals, elegant French script, and the warm patina that only time can create.
